Research Survey: How Non-Accounting Work Experience and Education Affect Second-Career CPA Candidates’ Exam Preparation and Outcomes
Thank you for taking the time to participate in this research survey. The purpose of this study is to examine how prior non-accounting work experience and education affects the preparation and performance of individuals who take the CPA exam.
The participants in this study must have received education and/or worked in non-accounting fields before taking the CPA exam and completed the most recent version of the CPA exam (January 2024 and beyond). This survey should take you approximately 10 minutes to complete using Qualtrics, an online survey system, and will ask questions related to how your non-accounting work and academic history influenced your preparation and performance on the CPA exam. You will also be asked about the extent of accounting education you received prior to taking the CPA exam.
Participation in this study is anonymous, and holds minimal risk. If you become upset or distressed while participating, please contact the free national crisis hotline at 988 or the Thomas C. Chambers Counseling and Training Center at the University of Holy Cross at (504) 398-2168. For any questions or concerns, please contact me at danielle.parker2@uhcno.edu.
